Columbia BVT (Oxford)

This machine should be rightfully called the "Oxford Talking Machine". It is a model BV with a detachable rear horn mount installed, the BVT uses a screwed in rear horn mount like all the other Columbia "T" style machines. The Oxford was sold by Sears, Roebucks and Co. between 1908 and 1909, price was $12.00.

The machine is one of the smallest made by Columbia, similar in size of the model "AA".

The removable rear bracket is attached to the box by way of a metal bracket that clips into the lid latch slots on the sides of the bedplate, the rear bracket then clamps to this bracket.

Close up of the unusual reproducer used, it is cast as an integral part of the carriage assembly.
